About the Artist
I've always wanted to be an Artist!
As a young girl growing up in New Orleans, I didn't recognize how the city helped set the foundation of my becoming a lifelong lover of art; eventually, leading to the creation of Mardi Gras Mosaics. However, and like others, life had plans of its own. Parental influence prescribed that I pursue an 'attainable' career as a school teacher. Well that didn't happen but I did go to university and graduated.
Throughout college, my passion for art never waned, and after settling on my second choice major I just grew more determined to make art. Later on, I learned how to make stained glass art pieces and became addicted. I was able to visualize beautiful pictures, in vibrant New Orleans inspired details that would look amazing as glass pieces.
My plan to one day open my own studio was put on hold while I worked as an HR manager, raised my kids and travelled with family. With the limited time I had, I would make art pieces, but was unable to turn it into a business. Fast forward , the kids are now grown and I've shifted my focus to mosaic art. So in 2018 I was able to retire and now I had the time to fulfill my lifelong dream of creating beautiful, custom mosaics for sale from my own personal studio!
My hope is my customers will love MardiGras Mosaics as much as I do.
